Mech's
current studies include the following: (1) long-term analysis of wolf and deer
population trends in the central Superior National Forest;
(2) the role of canine parvovirus in affecting the wolf population in the
central Superior National Forest; (3) wolf relations with prey in Yellowstone
National Park; and (4) wolf social behavior and ecology on Ellesmere Island,
